Silvertone H708 by Harmony Acoustic Archtop Guitar 1947 – Sunburst
A true piece of American guitar history, this 1947 Silvertone H708 by Harmony captures the warm, woody voice and timeless character that made post-war archtop guitars so popular.
This is the coolest Gypsy Jazz, Jazz guitar sounding guitar!!!!
Built in the USA by Harmony for the Silvertone brand, this vintage archtop features a classic sunburst finish, comfortable neck profile, and lively acoustic response that is equally at home for jazz, blues, folk, and vintage-inspired rhythm playing.
This H708 is in great playing condition. The guitar has a really comfortable action and delivers the dry, punchy tone that vintage Harmony-built archtops are known for. Cosmetically, it remains in overall good condition for its age, showing honest wear consistent with nearly 80 years of use.
As with many vintage instruments, it has received a few repairs to ensure decades of continued enjoyment. The back has been glued back to the sides, and sections of the binding have been re-glued where needed. The binding and or sides and back are kind of counter sunk and or does not match the sides perfectly in some places but everything is solid and intact. The original pickguard has been removed and is not included. These repairs do not affect the guitar’s excellent playability.
Whether you’re a collector of vintage American guitars, a player searching for authentic pre-1950s archtop tone, or someone looking for a unique instrument with decades of history, this Made in USA Silvertone H708 offers outstanding vintage character at an approachable price. It is a wonderful example of Harmony craftsmanship and is ready for many more years of music.
