We emailed the Weismann company and this is what they said.

Hello, thanks for contacting me. The body of the piccolo is made from Grenadilla wood. As for the headjoint, I would need a better picture of the wood grain to confirm which wood it is, but I am inclined to agree with you that it is rosewood. The current replacement cost is $4,450. (actually we recently raised our price which remained the same for15 years. Of course we have made some upgrades however you have a respectable instrument. On the used market you should ask around $1,850 to $2,000.

Lastly, please look on the rib to see if it’s stamped sterling. That means that the keys and mechanism are completely silver and therefore it’s worth more.
