The Warm Audio WA-47jr delivers the rich, vintage character of a classic ’47-style studio microphone at an accessible price. Instead of using a tube circuit, Warm Audio combines a custom K47-style capsule with premium FET electronics to create a microphone that sounds warm, detailed, and incredibly versatile. As a result, the WA-47jr excels on vocals, acoustic instruments, drums, and more.

At the heart of the microphone sits a custom K47-style capsule. Warm Audio designed and built this capsule to capture the depth, warmth, and smooth response that made vintage ’47 microphones legendary. Consequently, vocals sound full and natural, while guitars, pianos, and drum overheads gain impressive detail and character.

In addition, the transformerless FET circuit delivers excellent clarity with very low self-noise. Warm Audio selected premium Toshiba transistors and WIMA film capacitors to ensure consistent performance and outstanding reliability. Together, these components produce crisp highs, balanced mids, and a tight low end without sacrificing vintage warmth.

For even greater flexibility, the WA-47jr offers three selectable polar patterns. Choose cardioid to focus on a single sound source. Switch to omnidirectional when you want to capture room ambience. Alternatively, select figure-8 for duet recordings, interviews, or creative studio techniques. A built-in 70Hz high-pass filter also reduces unwanted low-frequency rumble. Meanwhile, the -10dB pad allows you to record loud instruments, including guitar cabinets and drums, without distortion.

Warm Audio builds each WA-47jr inside a durable nickel-plated brass body with a rugged metal grille. This solid construction stands up to years of studio and stage use. Every package also includes a shockmount, hard mount, and zippered storage pouch, so you can start recording straight away.
