Some overdrive pedals are designed to push an amp. The Warm Audio Dirty Boy Jr. does much more. It works as an overdrive, preamp, and all-analog amp simulator in one compact pedal.

Created in collaboration with Dirty Boy Co., the Dirty Boy Jr. recreates the original Dirty Boy Preamp circuit. It uses proprietary T.A.E. tube amp emulation technology for touch-sensitive response, tube-like harmonics, and dynamic cleanup.

Gain, Tone, Volume, and Variac controls let you shape a wide range of sounds. Go from a clean boost to saturated breakup and compressed, voltage-starved tones.

Dirty Boy Preamp Character

Warm Audio worked with Dirty Boy CEO Danny Gomez to capture the tone of the original hand-built Dirty Boy Preamp.

The all-analog circuit can work as a tube-style boost, overdrive, FX-loop preamp, or amp simulator. It works well with traditional amps and direct setups.

The pedal is voiced for vintage British-style amplifiers. It can cover everything from edge-of-breakup rhythm tones to saturated lead sounds.

T.A.E. Technology & Variac Control

The T.A.E. tube amp emulation circuit provides the pedal’s amp-like response. The speaker-emulated output is voiced after a closed-back 4×12 Greenback-style cabinet.

This output lets you connect directly to a mixer, audio interface, front-of-house system, or FRFR speaker.

The Variac control adds sag and compression through calibrated voltage reduction. This helps recreate the feel of a tube amp as it reaches different stages of breakup.
