Taylor Baritone-8 Mahogany 2012 – Natural with Case

This guitar is in excellent playing condition. There is a very small amount of play wear on the instrument. The neck and frets are in great shape and the action is nice and low. There is a crack in the top that has been repaired along the seem behind the bridge. There is also a hole on the bottom side where an output jack once was. The Taylor Baritone-8 Mahogany is a unique instrument, even in the fairly limited world of acoustic baritone guitars. Like any B-to-B-tuned baritone guitar, the Baritone-8 Mahogany gives you a low tonal range that’s great if you have a deep voice or are looking to add tonal complexity to your music. Baritone-8 Mahogany also features a pair of octave strings on the third and forth strings, which adds some of the sparkle of a 12-string that makes it perfect for solo playing, without the becoming too sonically complex for use with a full band.

Spruce-topped mahogany adds body without losing definition

To bring out the depth and character of the Baritone-8 Mahogany’s unique voice, Taylor selected a the combination of Sitka spruce and tropical American mahogany. The mahogany back and sides give the Baritone-8 Mahogany a deep and resonant tone, adding natural warmth to its bass. The spruce top balances this sound by bringing definition and clarity to the Baritone-8 Mahogany’s treble range.
