Description
The Snow Day Delay is the first time-based effect from Summer School Electronics. It is ready to blanket your sound in layers of crystal-clear repeats, saturated warmth, and experimental textures. Featuring two independent PT2399 delay chips, the Snow Day lets you create two distinct delay settings that can be switched between—or run simultaneously—for a blizzard of echo possibilities.
In Standard Mode (toggle down), each delay channel offers up to 600ms of delay time with smooth, clear repeats that stay articulate even at high feedback levels. Use the footswitch to rotate between your two preset times—perfect for setting song-specific delays or switching delay lengths mid-set without tap tempo. Think of it as your “set it and forget it” delay, ready to recall your favorite times and textures with a single stomp.
Flip the toggle up to Blizzard Mode, and things start to snowball. In this mode, both delay chips engage simultaneously:
- When the yellow light is on, both chips run in unison, creating a lush, slightly saturated echo with beautiful tonal coloration as the repeats clip and fade.
- When the blue light is on, both delays run in parallel at independent times, creating rhythmic, percussive interplay or cavernous, overlapping echoes depending on how you set the delay knobs.
Whether you’re chasing pristine digital clarity, analog-style warmth, or full-on self-oscillating soundscapes, the Snow Day Delay delivers. With everything from clean repeats to chaotic storms—all at the twist of a few knobs.
Controls:
- Mix – Adjusts the volume of the repeats
- Repeat – Controls how long the echoes sustain
- Delay 1 – Delay time for the blue channel
- Delay 2 – Delay time for the yellow channel
- Blizzard Mode – Toggle between individual or dual-delay operation
Features:
- Dual PT2399 delay chips for two fully independent delay lines
- Switchable or stackable delays for flexible tone creation
- Up to 600ms of delay per channel
- Blizzard Mode adds saturation and parallel delay options
- Designed for clear, musical repeats or wild self-oscillation
- Hand-built in Syracuse, NY by working musicians
- Runs on 9V DC, negative center power supply
Whether you need crisp echoes for your set or want to build glacial, droning textures, the Snow Day Delay gives you total control over the storm.
