Olds Melophone Vintage Fullerton California with case

Lacquer is super clean and overall in great condition, and even the case has been well taken care of. There are three large dents as shown in the photos, but they do not affect the playing or response of the instrument.

This is an Olds mellophone — a classic piece from one of America’s most respected brass manufacturers. Olds built mellophones with the same attention to craftsmanship found in their trumpets and French horns, giving them a warm, centered tone and excellent projection for marching or ensemble use. Their mellophones were known for durable construction, smooth valve action, and a slightly darker voice compared to modern marching mellophones. Many players prefer Olds mellophones because they blend well, slot easily, and have that unmistakable vintage Olds character. Instruments from this era are increasingly hard to find in clean condition, especially with original lacquer still intact.
