King 4B Trombone – Late 1960s Brass Lacquer – One‑Owner – Factory Relacquer – Replacement Case

This horn came in from a professional player along with 2 other trombones. He has owned it since 3rd grade and is now 64 years old — truly a one‑owner instrument. At some point it was sent back to King for a factory re-lacquer, and the case was replaced during that service.

Although I am officially listing it as Excellent Condition to avoid any arguments over grading, in my opinion the trombone is near mint. The lacquer is beautiful, the horn is exceptionally clean, and it has clearly been cared for its entire life. There is pitting on one area as shown now in pictures

A remarkably well‑preserved late‑60s King 4B with a great story and outstanding condition.

You have a King 4B (Sonorous) trombone

The 4B is the larger‑bore sibling of the 3B:

  • Model: King 4B
  • Bore: .547″
  • Bell: 9″
  • Era: Commonly 1950s–1990s
  • Engraving: The “4B” circle medallion is the giveaway

This is a legit pro horn — the 4B Sonorous is a respected orchestral/large‑bore trombone.

I have tried to find serial number and can’t find anything but the 27 then 213 which apparently part number for the parts such as rotary valve. Customer stated it is a 1969 and we can not verify that info.
