The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Hummingbird Standard is one of the most recognizable acoustic guitar designs ever made. Gibson first introduced the Hummingbird in 1960. It was the company’s first square-shoulder acoustic dreadnought.

The Hummingbird quickly became popular with musicians across many different genres. Epiphone’s Hummingbird Standard is part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection. It offers the classic Gibson design at a more accessible price.

This model features an all-solid tonewood construction. The top is made from solid spruce. The back and sides are solid mahogany. This combination delivers the classic Hummingbird tone. The sound should also develop and improve as the guitar ages.

The one-piece solid mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C profile. It features a genuine rosewood fretboard with 20 frets. Mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays add the classic Hummingbird look. The neck is attached to the body with a tapered dovetail joint.

The 60s-style Kalamazoo headstock features the Epiphone logo and Gibson crown inlaid in mother-of-pearl. It has a bone nut and Epiphone Deluxe tuners. The tuners have a gold finish and Keystone buttons for smooth and stable tuning.

Other classic details include the iconic tortoise Hummingbird pickguard. It features the familiar Hummingbird graphics. The guitar also has a reverse belly rosewood bridge with a bone saddle and ivory bridge pins. The Cherry Sunburst finish completes the traditional look.

For amplified performance, the Hummingbird Standard is equipped with Fishman electronics. It features an S-Core under-saddle pickup and Presys VT preamp. The volume and tone controls are mounted discreetly inside the soundhole. They are easy to access while remaining nearly invisible from the audience.
