Epiphone IGC 1964 SG Standard Reissue with Maestro Vibrola and Case- Cherry Red

The Epiphone 1964 SG Standard with Maestro Vibrola recreates one of the most iconic SG years. The 1964 model was famously played by George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

By 1964, Gibson had replaced the less intuitive Sideways Vibrato with the reliable Maestro Vibrola. The neck profile was also slightly fuller than earlier SG models. As a result, the SG offered improved balance, playability, and comfort.

This reissue was created in collaboration with Gibson Custom. It offers an authentic recreation of the original 1964 SG Standard.

The guitar features a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon. The SlimTaper profile provides fast and comfortable playability. The bound rosewood fretboard has mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays.

The headstock features an aged mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo. It also includes an aged Gibson crown inlay on the classic open-book design.

The two-piece mahogany body features vintage-style bevels. These bevels give the SG its distinctive look and comfortable feel.

For electronics, the guitar uses two USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers. These pickups feature Alnico 3 magnets. They are hand-wired to CTS potentiometers, Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, and a Switchcraft pickup selector and output jack.

The Vintage Gloss finish is paired with nickel hardware. Epiphone Vintage Deluxe “Double Ring” tuners complete the vintage look.

A black hardshell case is included. It features Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics, gold hardware, and a goldenrod interior.
